Sandra Wankmüller successfully defended her doctoral thesis a few weeks ago and now published her article "Introduction to Neural Transfer Learning with Transformers for Social Science Text Analysis" in the top journal Sociological Methods & Research (Social Sciences, Mathematical Methods 8 out of 53). In this article, Sandra Wankmüller provides an introduction to the foundations of modern natural language processing (deep learning, transfer learning, and the Transformer architecture) to a social science audience.
