On July 6, 2026 Dr. Feodora Teti & Lisa Scheckenhofer (both ifo) presented their insights on the effectiveness of Western trade sanctions on Russia, and the costs of trade diversion. Based on disaggregated Russian administrative data they show the impact of sanctions at the product level. A special focus of their presentation was on dual use goods.
