Aufgabengebiet

David Knoll is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Chair of Comparative Politics. His research and teaching focuses on democratic erosion, resilience, and militant democracy in contemporary and historical democracies.

In his dissertation at the University of Konstanz, he studied the potential, supply, and effects of elite communication in favor of liberal democracy using a mixed methods-approach consisting of survey experiments, comparative historical analysis, and content analysis. Besides this, David is interested in natural experiments, as well as the political dimension of large-scale hall-mark events like the Olympics.
