Curriculum Vitae

Doreen Allerkamp arbeitet seit Februar 2008 am Lehrstuhl für Politische Wissenschaft und Zeitgeschichte der Universität Mannheim und seit September 2011 am Lehrstuhl für Internationale Beziehungen. Sie ist Doktorandin im Department of Political Science, Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University. Doreen hat in Berlin (Otto-Suhr-Institut der Freien Universität) und Paris (Institut d'Etudes Politiques) Politikwissenschaft und Völkerrecht studiert und hält einen M.A. in Political Science der Maxwell School. Nach ihrer Rückkehr aus den Vereinigten Staaten war sie für ein Jahr als Visiting Researcher am Fachbereich für Politik- und Sozialwissenschaften des Europäischen Hochschulinstituts in Florenz.

In ihrer Dissertation beschäftigt sich Doreen mit der Rolle der Ratspräsidentschaft im Europäischen Integrationsprozess, speziell mit dem unvorhergesehenen Einfluss, den dieses Amt auf den Inhaber und damit auch auf europäische Entscheidungen haben kann. Ihre Forschungsinteressen liegen inhaltlich schwerpunktmäßig bei EU Politik und Institutionen sowie Integrationstheorien und -geschichte, und methodisch bei vergleichenden qualitativen Ansätzen.
